Good oral hygiene is vital to our overall well-being. The mouth is the primary entry point for bacteria into the human body, so it is essential to ensure its health. Maintenance or periodontal support treatment begins after controlling periodontal disease or to prevent infections in dental implants.

During oral hygiene maintenance appointments, procedures to eliminate plaque and tartar are performed. In these appointments, hygiene habits are evaluated, and if necessary, instructions are reinforced and oral hygiene techniques are adjusted. It is also essential to update the medical history, as some systemic conditions can influence periodontal health.

CARE TIPS

  • Regular visits to the dentist/oral hygienist at least every 6 months to prevent dental problems;
  • Brush your teeth 2 to 3 times a day;
  • Use dental floss or tape once a day, preferably at night;
  • Use fluoride toothpaste and a medium or soft toothbrush, which should be replaced every 3 months or when the bristles start to wear out;
  • Maintain a varied diet, consuming foods from all nutritional groups and reducing the intake of sugary foods;
  • Avoid eating sugary foods between meals when brushing your teeth is not possible.

WE OFFER TWO TYPES OF ORAL HYGIENE CONSULTATIONS:

  1. The conventional consultation;
  2. And the more recent, Biofilm Guided Oral Hygiene Consultation (also known as GBT), which brings technological innovation.

The GBT provides specialized oral hygiene, ensuring maximum comfort for our patients. But what are the main advantages of this new technology?

  • It is highly recommended for patients with dental sensitivity, as it has a heated water system;
  • It is more effective in maintaining implants;
  • Effectively removes pigments from teeth;
  • Helps prevent gum diseases;
  • It is a great ally in cleaning dental braces.

Always consult your hygienist or dentist to know the best solutions for you.
