WHAT IS OROFACIAL HARMONIZATION?

Orofacial Harmonization seeks the balance and harmony of the smile and face through the synergy between dental treatments and treatments for the supporting tissues of the perioral region. The applicability of these techniques goes far beyond aesthetics, with various therapeutic indications currently available.

As a smile is one of the main elements of the face and beauty, this is an area increasingly sought after in dentistry. It creates a connection between the smile and the rest of the face, viewing the face as a whole.

WHAT TREATMENTS ARE INCLUDED?

  • Application of botulinum toxin (known as Botox, used for example, to correct a gummy smile and asymmetric smiles);
  • Application of fillers, such as hyaluronic acid;
  • Mesotherapy;
  • Deep hydration (skinbooster);
  • Application of support threads.

WHERE CAN IT BE APPLIED?

Orofacial Harmonization complements various areas of Dentistry, including oral surgery, oral rehabilitation, orthodontics, periodontology, and occlusion. Examples of application areas are:

  • Optimization/recovery of lip support and volume;
  • Projection of perioral soft tissues;
  • Gummy smile;
  • Relaxation of the mentalis muscle (“orange peel” appearance of the chin);
  • Inverted labial commissures;
  • Filling of the malar region;
  • Support of nasolabial folds;
  • Correction/definition of the mandibular angle line;
  • Asymmetric smiles.

Treatment steps

  • 1

    Gathering data

    We start by collecting data that allows us to make a diagnosis and understand expectations. According to the treatment needs, a plan is drawn up with the proposed procedures.

  • 2

    Applying

    In the second consultation, the previously defined aesthetic procedures are carried out and the care to be taken after treatment is explained. Our team will always be on hand to help.

  • 3

    Follow-up

    Follow-up is carried out around 14 to 21 days after the procedure. A reassessment is made of the aesthetic result obtained and the need for refinement/retouching.
